The Author

Pamela J. LaTulippe is an investigative writer, podcast host, and founder of Aware Trade, an independent publication examining the infrastructure reshaping money, identity, and economic access. She is the author of the forthcoming book Aware Trade: The Rise of Coercive Capitalism.

LaTulippe spent two decades building the systems she now writes about. She began her career at Firefly Networks, the MIT Media Lab spinout that pioneered collaborative filtering, the predictive technology underlying the behavioral scoring and algorithmic targeting systems at the center of this book. She went on to co-found a venture-backed technology company during the dot-com era, profiled by the Boston Globe as a “Digital Master,” before moving into payments infrastructure at ACI Worldwide and spending a decade at Mastercard as an early architect of digital wallet and tokenization technology, the same tokenized payment rails now being adapted into programmable money. She did not encounter this architecture as a journalist. She helped build it.

She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Accion Program on Strategic Leadership in Inclusive Finance. She writes Aware Trade from Greenwich, Connecticut, tracking this infrastructure in real time, and is available for speaking engagements, writing, research, and media.
